YOUTHWORKS

A program that provides at-risk, out-of-school, disabled youths ages 17-21 opportunities to reinforce their academic and job-seeking skills.  The program offers individual and/or group instruction to prepare students for the GED exam, teaches computer and office skills, and provides monetary incentives and paid internships for teens that have left high school without graduating.  Through meetings with local guidance counselors and a bulk mailing in the MGN EOC “target community”, a concerted effort is made to recruit and enroll young people from Manhasset and Great Neck in the program.

Youth Council

Middle and high school age youth meet weekly to share their ideas and concerns and plan relevant, age-appropriate trips, activities, and programs, for them-selves and their peers.
