Mission Statement

The Manhasset/Great Neck Economic Opportunity Council Inc. provides services that promote self-sufficiency, self-development and self-esteem through educational, recreational, cultural enrichment and support programs for both children and adults in the Hagedorn Community Center.

The Vision

The Hagedorn Community Center, home of the Manhasset/Great Neck EOC, is to be a building with a set of programs in which there is positive community spirit representative of the many diverse segments of the community. Individuals capable of making real contributions to the health and well being of the MGN EOC will be participating on the Board of Directors, Policy Council, and Advisory Committees. Sources of ongoing financial support will be identified in order to provide adequate support for the operating costs of the facility as well as programmatic expenses.

The Manhasset/Great Neck EOC is dedicated to providing services to children and adults in the community in a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment that will give children a positive vision of their own potential while improving the quality of their family life through the provision of health and education information, services, programs, and activities. In addition, the Board of Directors is committed to employing individuals who will assist in operating the agency in a manner that is ethically, morally, and legally responsible.
